How tribunal compensation is structured
The basic award
Calculated exactly like statutory redundancy pay: half a week’s pay per year under 22, one week per year aged 22–40, and one and a half weeks per year aged 41 or over, subject to the same weekly pay cap and 20-year limit.
The compensatory award
Covers actual financial loss — lost wages, pension and benefits — from dismissal until you find comparable work. It is capped at the lower of the statutory maximum and 52 weeks’ gross pay.
